What is Whetstone CLCGB?

Whetstone CLCGB is a modern & fun uniformed youth organisation, providing an exciting and developing program of activities for all young people to enjoy. We are part of a large national organisation with branches all across the UK, The Church Lads’ & Church Girls’ Brigade.   Our leaders are all trained volunteers from professional backgrounds, all of which are fully police checked and insured.  We aim to encourage Christian values and friendship, in an enjoyable, safe environment.  We are an an all faiths organisation and anyone is welcome regardless of thier beliefs or background.

Whetstone CLCGB has provided services to young people of South Leicestershire for over 55 Years and we are still going strong!

Who Can Join Whetstone CLCGB?

For our youth group and activity nights welcome anyone between the ages of 5 and 21, regardless of faith or background.    There are no recruitment criteria.  Everyone is welcome at Whetstone  CLCGB!

We also have a two bands.  We welcome musicians of all abilities and ages.  We have a adult section in our band, that often play at professional engagements.

Whats the Cost?

We are a non profit-making organisation and a registered charity. To attend one of our company nights we charge £1.50. On some trips out, this cost may be slightly higher but we work hard to keep our costs low.  All of the money we raise goes straight back into to providing services for our young people.  Our staff are all trained volunteers.

What do you get upto?

We are a busy youth organisation with a traditional heritage.  The Church Lads’ &  Church Girls’ Brigade were one of the first youth organisations in  the UK.   We are a uniformed organisation and have lots of similarities to military cadets, scouting, youth clubs and sporting clubs!  We like to think we have a mix of all the above!

Our members take part in sporting events, music, games, camping, trip outs, crafts, challenges, parades, water activities, orienteering,  cooking, social events and more!
